Burak Dikilitaş is a visual artist working with time-based art forms, including photography, video, and installation. His works are primarily presented through exhibitions and photobooks. Urban research, infrastructural systems, and technological speculations shape his practice. He seeks to highlight how individual and collective memory can produce alternative social imaginaries. Rather than treating subjects and conditions as fixed phenomena, his work examines them as temporary, layered fields of experimental observation.
Educated in Istanbul and Rotterdam, he graduated from the Photography Department at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in 2015. During his studies, his works were exhibited at the Akbank Contemporary Artists Prize and received the No. 8 Award at ARTIST 2015 / 25th International Art Fair. He later moved to Izmir, where he developed projects and collaborated with various artistic initiatives, including Darağaç Art Collective.
In 2021, he completed a fully funded non-thesis MA in Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design at Sabancı University. In 2025, he began his MA thesis research, “Images of Destruction and Urbanscapes in Contemporary Turkish Photography,” at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. His work has been shown at Sakıp Sabancı Museum, Akbank Sanat, Elgiz Museum, Barın Han, Studio-X Istanbul, and Darağaç.
