Burak Dikilitaş graduated from the Photography Department at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in 2015, after completing a one-year exchange at the Willem de Kooning Academy’s Autonome Beeldende Kunst in Rotterdam. During his studies, his work was exhibited at the Akbank Contemporary Artists Prize, and received the first prize, No.8 Award, at the ARTIST 2015 / 25th International Art Fair. After graduation, he moved to İzmir, where he worked, developed projects, and collaborated in various artistic initiatives, most notably with the Darağaç Art Collective.

Following his return to Istanbul in 2019, he completed a full-scholarship non-thesis Master’s degree in the Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design program at Sabancı University in 2021. In 2025, he began developing his MA thesis research, titled ‘Images of Destruction and Urbanscapes in Contemporary Turkish Photography’, in the Photography program at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. He continues his practice across various forms of visual media, primarily focusing on photobooks and exhibitions.

His work has been shown in exhibitions including Past Present Istanbul (Sabancı Museum, 2021), Atış Serbest: Mecmu (Barın Han, 2021), Resource Utopia (Elgiz Museum, 2019), Living and Producing in İzmir: City Authors (Studio-X, 2018), and Darağaç | Bu Arada (Alsancak, 2016).
